Beliefs
What We Believe:
We Believe the Grace of God saves Humanity from its sinful condition through faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Throughout eternity, we will either exist separated from God in Hell due to our sinful rebellion, or in union with God in Heaven due to the forgiveness and salvation that accompany faith in Jesus Christ
We Believe Believers mark their faith in Jesus Christ by being Baptized (Immersion) in water as taught and exemplified in the Bible
Step 1-Believe
Reports from early Jesus followers tell us that Jesus is the innocent son of God, but that he was murdered by evil men. Being the Son of God, however, death could not hold him and he came back to life just a few days later! Did this really happen? If so, the implications are huge: this would mean that Jesus died in place of sinful mankind, and thus made amends for all of our sins!
Billions of people across the globe have accepted that this truly happened and have altered their entire lives based on the evidence. What about you? Do you believe?
Step 2-Surrender
If you want to become a follower of Jesus, you must surrender your life. Jesus once said, “whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it” (Luke 9:24 NIV). Here’s what that looks like: turn from your sin and step towards Jesus; invite His Holy Spirit to renew your heart and mind from the inside out!
From the beginning, believers marked their surrender to Jesus by being baptized. The death and burial of Jesus are embodied as you go down into the water, and you embrace His resurrection as you resurface. Would you like to be baptized-marking the surrender of your life to Christ?
Why should I be Baptized?
A Simple reason why a Christian should be baptized is because it follows the example that Jesus set for us when he himself was baptized (Mark 1:9-11). Jesus also instructed his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
Why Baptism by Immersion:
We baptize by immersion because we want to be a church that does biblical things in biblical ways. In the language that the Bible was originally written, the word for “baptize” literally means “to dip” or “immerse”, and Baptism in the Bible was done by immersion (i.e. Acts 8:38-39). Also, immersion best symbolizes death, burial and resurrection (Colossians 2:12).
When Should I get Baptized:
The Bible teaches that baptism accompanies the decision to follow Jesus, so as soon as you believe that Jesus is your savior, you should be baptized (Acts 8:12).
