#13: “Chapter 12”
INTRO:
We’ve covered the church age three times, now: once in the letters to the seven
churches; once in chapters 4-7, where we saw the tribulations and persecution of the
church; and again, in chapters 8-11, where we saw the ultimate defeat of the church by
the beast and the resurrection of the church at the second coming of Christ.
Now, we begin the fourth description of the church age, and we meet the five
enemies of Christ and his church: the dragon, the beast out of the sea, the beast out of
the earth, Babylon, and those who have the mark of the beast.
Thus far, we’ve seen the outward struggle between the church and the world.
With this chapter, we’ll see that it’s actually a deeper struggle between Christ and
Satan.
