“The Great Contradiction Part 1” (The Beatitudes) Matthew 5:3-6
Introduction:
-Last Week I introduced our series “The Heart of the Matter” In the next few weeks we will be going through the chapters pertaining to the Sermon on the Mount.
-What we need to remember has we go through the text pertaining to the Sermon on the Mount; Jesus is not interested in outward appearances. His interest is in your heart!!!
-Jesus wants to get to the “Heart of the Matter” and today’s message reinforces the idea of Jesus focusing on the Heart
-The word Beatitude means Blessing-Good News. Remember these blessings are not future blessings but present blessings as well.
-Today let’s look at what I would like to quote Part 1 of “The Great Contradiction” (The Beatitudes) and what it means to be blessed in the Kingdom of God.
